to me, assuming a training collar is charged correct and fitted well, which any collar should be capable of, the important design factor is the ease of use of the remote. this is my third training collar and this has the most intuitive remote, with the vibrate, sound and shock buttons big and clear. it also seems to be more powerful than some collars such that the very lowest levels elicit a response from my dog. very good especially for the price.
